ABOUT ME

Here’s where I can blow my own trumpet…I’m an award-winning food writer, cook, food stylist and presenter. I love to create inspirational modern recipes, with achievable results for the home cook and over the many years of writing have become known for producing fail-safe, accessible and great looking recipes. I like to write in a friendly and chatty manner, offering useful/practical tips and ideas along the way, with impressive end results that everyone can enjoy – whatever the ability or occasion.
It’s these recipes that I’m proud to say have made me a best – selling author, with a number of awards under my belt and many of my books translated and sold in numerous countries around the world.
When I’m not writing books, you’ll often find me presenting recipes online, on TV, in your favourite food magazines, on stage performing live cookery demonstrations and hosting numerous workshops/cookery classes. I regularly host lessons at Leith’s Cookery School and Divertimenti Cookery School, London.
I’m proud to say that I gained a huge amount of knowledge, skill and expertise from many years of working alongside hugely talented restaurant chefs, including the late Gary Rhodes, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and John Torode, working on their books, tv shows and live cookery demonstrations.
Even though I enjoyed working with these restaurant chefs, I didn’t ever expect to be working in the restaurant industry myself. However, little did I know that I’d be given the opportunity to collaborate with three amazing ladies, Sophie Michell, Caroline Artiss and Gee Charman to launch what’s now become an award-winning contemporary restaurant at Heathrow’s Terminal 2, where we create contemporary and stylish menus specialising in global cuisine using predominantly British grown produce.
I’ve had a passion for food from a young age. I grew up near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire – a market town often referred to as the food capital of England and famous for their delicious Pork Pies. I was always getting involved in cooking at home and school, and pursuing my passion for food into a career was a natural progression. After completing a degree in Home Economics at Liverpool John Moore’s University, I moved to London for work, which is now my home where I live with my husband Phil and children Olly and Rosa (without a doubt my harshest food critics!).
